Ice Cream and Food Stop Returns to North Marion

A new neighborhood restaurant is opening this weekend returning food and ice cream to north Marion. Earl’s Chill & Grill will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, June 25 with a ribbon cutting at 10:30 am.

The restaurant, owned by Brian Langfitt, will open at 955 29th Avenue, the former location of Parlor City which closed in September of 2021.

“I’m a resident of Marion, and my kids attended Linn-Mar,” said Langfitt. “We were sad to see Parlor City close and its exciting to bring back an ice cream and food shop within walking distance for many families.”

Langfitt is no stranger to the restaurant business with 30 years of quick service history. His career began as a crew person and he rose to Director of Operations for 9 restaurants. That experience will translate into great food, fast service, and a friendly staff at Earl’s Chill & Grill.

The menu will feature burgers, sandwiches, a variety of fried foods, and multiple flavors of soft service ice cream, candy blended ice cream, shakes, carbonated slushies, soda, and more.

“I’ve always wanted to own my own restaurant and the opportunity came up so I grabbed ahold of it,” added Langfitt. “We are a family-owned restaurant and it’s named Earl’s in honor of my Dad. We look forward to delivering outstanding service to our community.”

Earl’s Chill & Grill will be open 7 days a week from 11:00 am – 9:00 pm offering dine in and drive thru.
