The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has announced its endorsement of Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Iowa’s 1st Congressional District. This endorsement highlights her support for small business interests.
Matt Everson, NFIB Iowa State Director, stated, “Rep. Miller-Meeks understands the importance of the small business economy and has shown tremendous leadership fighting for issues like lower taxes and less regulation.” He emphasized the significance of the upcoming election in November for small businesses, especially as inflation poses challenges and a substantial tax increase looms. Everson added, “On behalf of the NFIB members in Iowa, we proudly stand with Rep. Miller-Meeks.”
Sharon Sussin, NFIB Senior National Political Director, expressed similar sentiments: “We are proud to endorse Rep. Miller-Meeks today.” She noted that Miller-Meeks holds a perfect NFIB Voting Record and is an original cosponsor of the Main Street Tax Certainty Act aimed at preserving the 20% Small Business Deduction. Sussin highlighted her consistent support for pro-small business policies.
The endorsement comes from NFIB FedPAC, which is funded by voluntary contributions from NFIB members beyond their membership dues. The decisions made by this political action committee are driven by grassroots evaluations conducted by its members.
