The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Iowa PAC has announced its endorsements for candidates running for the Iowa General Assembly. According to the NFIB, small businesses in Iowa are contending with economic challenges, including higher taxes, additional mandates, inflation, and workforce shortages. The NFIB emphasized the need for strong advocates in the General Assembly to alleviate these issues.

“These candidates have proven that they’re willing to fight for our members to own, operate, and grow their small businesses,” Matt Everson, NFIB Iowa State Director, stated. “NFIB Iowa PAC is grateful for their commitment to making our state a better place to raise a family and do business.”

Endorsements by the NFIB Iowa PAC are decided by the NFIB IA PAC Board, which includes small business owners from Iowa. Incumbent candidates are selected based on their voting record during the 2023-24 legislative sessions, requiring a score of at least 70 percent on issues important to small businesses. For non-incumbent candidates, endorsements are based on interviews and questionnaire responses.

The NFIB endorsement signals that a candidate supports small businesses, sending a message to voters statewide. The announcement details the endorsed candidates for both the Iowa Senate and House.

For the Iowa Senate, endorsed candidates include Jeff Taylor in District 2, Tim Kraayenbrink in District 4, and several others. The Iowa House endorsements cover candidates like Robert Henderson in District 2, Tom Jeneary in District 3, and a range of others across various districts.
