The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has launched new digital advertisements to highlight Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks' support for small businesses in Iowa's 1st District. These ads emphasize her backing of efforts in Congress to make the Small Business Tax Deduction permanent.
The NFIB plans to feature these digital ads across Iowa’s 1st District, underscoring Rep. Miller-Meeks’ advocacy for the Small Business Tax Deduction. This initiative is part of NFIB’s ongoing multi-year, multi-state campaign aimed at ensuring the permanency of the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction. The ads will include testimonials from NFIB members who will share their experiences via video ads, explaining how the deduction has enabled them to grow and invest in their businesses and discussing potential impacts if Congress does not act.
“Over the last seven years, the Small Business Tax Deduction has helped America’s small businesses grow and hire,” stated NFIB Iowa State Director Matt Everson. “Rep. Miller-Meeks understands the importance of the Small Business Deduction and has been a leading voice in Congress to make it permanent. With Congress currently considering sweeping tax legislation, we are hopeful that lawmakers act quickly and protect America’s small businesses from a massive tax increase.”
Initially passed as part of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the Small Business Tax Deduction allows small business owners to deduct up to 20% of their qualified business income, thereby helping level the playing field between small firms and large corporations.
