Jeff Brabant, Vice President of Federal Government Relations for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), recently appeared on the Simon Conway Show in Des Moines. During his appearance, Brabant discussed the importance of making the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent to prevent a significant tax increase on Iowa's small businesses.

The deduction was introduced as part of the 2017 tax law to provide small businesses with a more level playing field compared to larger corporations. It has been instrumental in helping small business owners navigate economic challenges over recent years. However, this deduction is set to expire at the end of 2025.

Brabant highlighted that the Main Street Tax Certainty Act aims to make this deduction permanent, thereby avoiding a substantial tax hike for many small businesses across America.

For those interested in hearing Brabant's full discussion, the interview is available online. Further information about the Small Business Deduction can be found on their website.
