An Oxford man, Eric Gene Rundle, 44, has been sentenced to 156 months in federal prison for attempted enticement of a minor and receipt of child pornography. The sentencing took place on June 25, 2025, in Davenport, Iowa.
Court documents and evidence presented during the sentencing revealed that Rundle communicated with an undercover law enforcement officer who posed as a fifteen-year-old girl. Rundle planned to meet the girl for sex acts and was subsequently arrested at the meeting location. At the time of his arrest, Rundle had a cell phone with him that was used to receive, view, and possess images and videos containing child sexual abuse material.
Upon completion of his prison term, Rundle will be subject to a seven-year term of supervised release. It is important to note that there is no parole in the federal system.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal of the Southern District of Iowa. The investigation was conducted by the Iowa City Police Department.
This case falls under Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to address child sexual exploitation and abuse. The program aims to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals exploiting children via the Internet while also identifying and rescuing victims.
