A Cedar Rapids man has been sentenced to over eight years in federal prison for mailing thousands of fentanyl pills from Arizona to Iowa. Anthony Chan Dixon, aged 35, was sentenced on July 7, 2025, following his guilty plea earlier this year.
Dixon pleaded guilty on January 21, 2025, to one count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. Court documents revealed that Dixon relocated from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Phoenix, Arizona before 2022. From there, he began shipping packages containing hundreds of fentanyl pills back to Cedar Rapids starting in 2022 and continuing through September 2023. Authorities estimate that at least 4,500 fentanyl pills were distributed by Dixon during this period.
United States District Court Chief Judge C.J. Williams presided over the sentencing in Cedar Rapids. Dixon received a sentence of 106 months in prison and will serve a three-year term of supervised release following his incarceration. Federal sentences do not include parole.
Currently held in the custody of the United States Marshal's Service, Dixon awaits transfer to a federal prison facility.
