The Boyson Road bridge over Interstate 380 in Hiawatha is set to close on Monday, July 14, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation's Manchester construction office. The closure will last for 20 working days and will affect all four I-380 ramps.
During this period, construction crews will work on connecting the segment ends to the North Center Point Road intersection and the roundabout at North 12th Avenue. Additionally, the northbound ramp intersection will be completed. Once the closure ends, the northbound exit ramp will reopen, but the entrance ramp will remain closed for a few more weeks.
The Iowa DOT advises motorists to drive carefully in work zones, adhere to speed limits and signs, and be aware that traffic fines are doubled for moving violations in these areas. Drivers should stay alert, maintain safe distances between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
