The eastbound I-80 on-ramp at southbound Jordan Creek Parkway (exit 121) in West Des Moines will be closed for nighttime construction starting August 5, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Creston construction office. The closure is scheduled from 9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, until 5 a.m. on Friday, September 19, weather permitting.

During this period, crews will conduct concrete pavement work. Motorists traveling south on Jordan Creek Parkway will be directed by digital message signs to continue south and then take Ashworth Road east to reach 50th Street. From there, they should travel north to University Avenue and then west until reaching the I-35/I-80 interchange (Exit 124).

The Iowa DOT advises drivers to exercise caution in the work area, adhere to posted speed limits and other signage, and remain aware that traffic fines for moving violations are doubled in work zones. Drivers are reminded to stay alert, maintain safe distances between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
