A Fort Dodge resident, Pry’Shayn Mosley, age 20, pleaded guilty in federal court in Sioux City on November 12 to charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and distribution of child pornography.

According to information presented at the plea hearing, Mosley admitted that from May 2022 through October 2022 he enticed two minors under the age of 18 to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing visual depictions. He also acknowledged possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material to others, including children. During the investigation, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Mosley’s home and seized electronic devices along with marijuana, drug paraphernalia, cash, and two loaded firearms.

Authorities reported that while police were present during the search, Mosley directed a juvenile at the residence to retrieve a package containing drugs—cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl—from another room and attempt to dispose of it. Officers observed this action and intervened before evidence could be destroyed. The child pornography created and distributed by Mosley involved material depicting sadistic or masochistic conduct.

Sentencing will be scheduled after completion of a presentence report. United States District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand will preside over sentencing. Mosley remains in custody pending sentencing by the United States Marshal. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and up to 30 years’ imprisonment, as well as a $250,000 fine and at least five years of supervised release following any term of imprisonment.
