Iowa Transportation Commission schedules November meeting in Ames

The Iowa Transportation Commission is set to convene for its upcoming business meeting on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. The meeting will take place in the Lincoln Highway Conference Room at the Iowa Department of Transportation's headquarters located at 800 Lincoln Way in Ames.

The agenda for the business meeting includes several key items. At 1 p.m., Jill Smith, executive assistant to the Transportation Commission, will seek approval for the minutes from the October 14, 2025, Commission Meeting. Following this, there will be comments from both the commission and Iowa DOT staff.

Stuart Anderson, director of the Transportation Development Division, will present on administrative rules related to statewide standards for permitting certain implements of husbandry. Deb Arp, team leader at the Local Systems Bureau, will discuss Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy (RISE) in DeWitt and provide recommendations for state recreational trails program funding.

An informal workshop session is also scheduled for November 12. This session will begin at 9:30 a.m., with participation available both in person and via conference call. During this workshop, various transportation-related topics may be discussed without any formal actions being taken. Topics include an overview of transportation research at Iowa State University and University of Iowa, updates on transportation trends, and reports on highway programs and project prioritization.
