Iowa State's win over Grambling State this past weekend prompted a local journalist to wax nostalgic on social media.

Quad-City Times reporter Deirdre Baker posted on her Twitter page shortly after Iowa State's 82-47 win Sunday evening, leaving the Cyclones at 4-0 for the season.

"Whew!" Baker said in her Twitter post the same day. "Iowa State men's basketball looks terrific tonight versus Grambling State. Shades of yesteryear."

Baker has been a reporter at the Quad-City Times since May 1989, according to information on her LinkedIn page. Baker covers health topics and, on occasion, "religion stories," her LinkedIn page said.

The start of Sunday's game on Nov. 21 certainly was far more closely contested at the start. Grambling State managed a 6-0 run, including Izaiah Brockington's foul on a 3-point shooter and the team's two 3-point shots, 247 Sports reported. Then Iowa State's Tyrese Hunter open the game wide open with five points and the Cyclones used a 20-2 run right at the heart of the first half. The game was practically over after that.

The win leaves Iowa State undefeated this season, according to the Des Moines Register's coverage of the game. Iowa State scored nine 3s in the first half alone, the publication said in its Sunday, Nov. 21, story.

Jaz Kunc shot 7 of 7 overall and connected in all five of his attempts from deep, finishing with 21 points and adding seven rebounds and three assists.

Baker referred to Kunc in another post to her Twitter page.

"Jazz Kunc, a skinny & tall guy from Slovenia, sure is fun to watch versus Grambling," Baker said. "The 3's are going his way!"

Another Cyclone standout during the game was Tristan Enaruna with 15 points, nine rebounds, one block and a steal.

Meanwhile, 247 Sports reported the same day that Iowa State shot 46% from the field, dramatically outshooting Grambling State's 31% from the field. Iowa State also out-rebounded Grambling State in a 46-22 score.

The Cyclones next game will be away in Brooklyn to face off against Xavier before they play Memphis or Virginia Tech in the annual National Invitation Tournament Tip Off at Barclays Center.
