The Iowa Department of Transportation has announced a temporary nighttime closure of Iowa 26 in Lansing. The closure is scheduled from November 10 to November 12, between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., to allow construction crews to disassemble and remove a 300-ton crane at the west abutment of the new bridge over the Mississippi River.
Motorists are advised to plan for potential delays during these hours. The Iowa DOT emphasizes caution, urging drivers to adhere to posted speed limits and other signs in the work area. Traffic fines for violations in work zones are doubled, and drivers should remain alert, maintain safe distances between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
