Nighttime roadwork on Iowa 415 in Polk City will lead to closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., starting Wednesday, Oct. 29, as announced by the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Des Moines maintenance office. The pavement work is scheduled for Oct. 29, Oct. 30, Nov. 2, and Nov. 3, weather permitting.

The closure will affect the stretch from 3rd Street in Polk City to NW Beaver Drive west of the Mile Long Bridge. Motorists are advised to use NW 26th Street, NW 66th Avenue, and NW Beaver Drive as alternative routes during these times.

The Iowa DOT advises drivers to exercise caution, adhere to speed limits and posted signs in the work zone, and notes that traffic fines for violations are doubled in these areas. Drivers should remain alert, maintain safe distances between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
